Melbourne Punk Band. We like early 80's punk from California and DC.

“Brainwaves - Killer gassed in the garage punker blow yer brains out core. Sorta in the same vein as earlier SHITTY LIMITS, with a little First Four Years flavor, this is fucking great. Franca’s vocals are so fucking rad, total shouty vicious appeal, over the best urgent destructive guitar attack… This band is insanely good. Descriptively simple jams, super catchy and classic. It’s hard to do something like this and it not sound like a pastiche, like Xerox of a good idea from 1981. BRAIWAVES make it seem effortless. I would have loved to see this band live, but they are I think done as a band? Not sure! They are Australians and have a sick 7” too, which as soon as I heard I wrote the band, and got this tape. You should do your part and act in a similar fashion… (Layla Gibbon) (5-song cassette, lyrics included, brainwavespunk.tumblr.com)”
Also, we have broken up, played our last shows at the beginning of this year.

Hi guys.
Every year, the meaning and connotations of Australia day become more and more removed from what it actually means to live in this country and why we are able to have a specific day celebrate many things - one of those things I believe needs to be celebrated is freedom, no matter where you come from or what way you got here.
This Australia day - January 26, there will be an all day show at the Tote in Collingwood to raise funds for The Refugee Council of Australia. Which will go towards helping with legal advice for refugees, providing settlement support for refugees and also raising general awareness.
The bands playing on the day include:
The Nation Blue.
Arrows.
Coerce.
Hawaiian Islands.
Headaches (qld).
Luca Brasi (tas).
Jerk Store (cbr).
Anchors.
Darren Gibson feat. 5000.
Jamie Hay feat. Good beard.
Brainwaves. feat. Terrible beards.
+ More info, bands and flyer TBA.
This is also a call out to any food / cupcake / zine / etc people - if you want to get involved with a table. Send a PM my way!
